CUReS: Research Opportunities for Medical Students
12 March 2014By Robert Lundin
Cardiff University Research Society (CUReS) is a student led society within the School of Medicine, which aims to improve research opportunities for medical students in Cardiff and provide them with the inspiration and information pertinent to pursuit of careers in academic medicine. Every year we work closely with supervisors to release a summer project list and connect researchers to highly motivated medical students. We have been running the INPSIRE program in Cardiff for the past two years, sending 85 medical students to taster days in research groups and funding 10 vacation studentships. We also run a WCAT mentoring scheme, regular talks by interesting speakers and events focused on research skills. Our largest event is the CUReS symposium in October, displaying the work students have been doing over the past year. All our events and services are free and open to all medical students.
