Tips and advice

Hello, and welcome!

3 July 2014

Hello everybody!

Lauren

My name is Lauren and I’m about to (somewhat reluctantly) graduate from Cardiff University with a 2:1 in Law and French. I love Cardiff and, as a big Welsh rugby fan, there was nowhere better I could have spent my university life.

As a languages student, I undertook a year of my studies at university in France. This experience really broadened my horizons and made me realise how easy it is to overcome barriers if you really put your mind to it! Therefore, although I am in a similar position to many of you in that I am still slightly unsure of what I will do after graduation, I am remaining open minded about the future.

Currently, I am back home waiting for the big day itself. I am hoping to return to Cardiff as soon as possible and pursue a career in the communications industry, having been lucky enough to work with the University’s PR team for the past six months. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, not knowing what will come next for the first time in over 15 years, but I am excited about the prospect of doing something new and different.

Over the next fortnight or so I will be providing you will blog posts on various aspects concerning graduation and the future. Don’t forget to follow the @CUGradReporter, who will keep you updated when new blog posts are put up as well as being there to answer any graduation-related questions!

All the best,

Lauren
