What motivated you to take up a year\/semester abroad in Cardiff?<\/h4>\n

I have always wanted to go on exchange, and looking through my home university partner schools, Cardiff University checked all my boxes. The student support and academic standards combined with the Welsh culture and access to other parts of Europe were the perfect combination.<\/p>\n

What are your highlights from your time in Cardiff?<\/h4>\n

I really love going to the Cardiff Market or hanging out in the park outside the museum or around the castle. I also really enjoy watching the football or rugby at the Woodville with friends.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us about student life on campus?<\/h4>\n

Student life is very social and welcoming here. The Taf and Yolo are really fun and a great way to socialize that is super easy and close.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us about the learning and teaching environment at Cardiff University?<\/h4>\n

It is amazing. The professors are very involved with the students and are eager to help you with your studies and even to just chat about anything. I was able to ask them any questions I had, even if they were “hypothetical”\/”irrelevant”, and they were all happy to just talk about it! This really helped maintain my personal interest in the content as well as make me more curious.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to other students when applying for the programme?<\/h4>\n

The application process was thorough, so I would highly recommend staying up to date on emails and making sure you fully understand each component of the application so you do not leave it to the last minute.<\/p>\n

What is the one thing you wish you\u2019d known before you left?<\/h4>\n

Somehow, between January-March, it rains even more than you think. Invest in a good rain jacket and learn how to dress in layers.<\/p>\n

What can you tell us about being in Wales and the Welsh culture?<\/h4>\n

Welsh culture is very social and group-oriented. They love to do things together, like cooking, shopping, studying, etc. They also make really good comfort
\nfood – Welsh cakes, Leek soup, Welsh rarebit, sausage and mash, Sunday roast … They also sing a lot (not always well).<\/p>\n

Can you sum up your experience in one sentence?<\/h4>\n

It has been life-changing and something I will cherish forever, and I will be returning to Wales!<\/p>\n
