Italy has welcomed more and more immigrants however this does not always mean an improved life for the immigrants. Many immigrants come to Italy to live a better life and integrate as much as possible. Unfortunately, a large number of them continue to be marginalised and are not offered the best paying jobs. Most of the time immigrants would work in touristic areas trying to advertise cheap products but hardly anyone gives them any attention. Some examples include African immigrants walking around the Metropolitan area stopping anyone to convince them to buy some bracelets with an African design or even portafortuna<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(lucky charms) from Africa but it is extremely rare to see people buy their products.<\/p>\n It is also very common to come across immigrants working in Piazza della Santa Croce where they try to advertise some Italian paintings in broken Italian but are met with very little to no success.<\/p>\n Another popular place for immigrants to sell some art is Piazza del Duomo. Working in the market to try to make ends meet.<\/p>\n Unemployment<\/strong><\/p>\n Firenze si presenta come un’idilliaca citt\u00e0 rinascimentale adorata da molti per la sua splendida architettura che viene spesso mostrata nelle foto. Tuttavia, questa aspettativa onirica non \u00e8 stata eguagliata per alcune persone quando si sono confrontate con le realt\u00e0 della vita quotidiana a Firenze. Quando le persone aspirano a lavorare a Firenze, devono essere consapevoli di quanto sia alta la concorrenza.<\/p>\n Non appena qualcuno non pu\u00f2 pi\u00f9 sostenersi, avrebbe bisogno di andarsene e trovare un altro posto dove stare. L’alta competizione \u00e8 una delle ragioni per l’aumento del numero di senzatetto perch\u00e9 molte carriere hanno cercato coloro che hanno pi\u00f9 esperienza e sono in grado di parlare pi\u00f9 lingue. La mancanza di posti di lavoro \u00e8 sicuramente un problema qui perch\u00e9 molte persone lavorano con contratti a breve termine o hanno una partita iva che \u00e8 costosa.<\/p>\n Firenze \u00e8 una citt\u00e0 molto artistica ed \u00e8 un luogo ideale per gli aspiranti artisti per trovare una carriera o per lo meno chiunque sia interessato all’arte.\u00a0Gli artisti guadagnano mostrando il loro talento nel pubblico.<\/p>\n There are issues with living costs in Italy because it is very expensive to afford accommodation. Residence is still a denied right which is problematic for those without a residence because it is impossible to get many other rights.<\/p>\n Another issue regarding living costs is that rent can be uncomfortably high and pickings can be dismal as more apartments are turned into Airbnb investments.<\/p>\n Homelessness<\/strong><\/p>\n During my stay in Florence I have noticed quite a significant number of homeless people on the streets. Many of them wait outside of supermarkets asking for money while others sit on the edge of the pavements with their hands clenched around a small plastic cup. Majority of the time people walk passed them and they are usually found in touristic areas. Most homeless people are immigrants and homelessness ties in with immigration problems found in Italy. However, compared to other cities such as Milan and Rome, Florence has less homeless people. Majority of homeless people are male and just over half of homeless people are foreigners.<\/p>\n \u00c8 importante considerare l’aumento dei senzatetto giovanili che consiste in italiani e soprattutto stranieri. Per quanto riguarda i giovani senzatetto, gli stranieri costituiscono una maggioranza sorprendente. I giovani senzatetto italiani sono principalmente ragazzi con un basso grado di studio, senza lavoro e con figli. D’altra parte, ci sono molti giovani migranti con un livello di istruzione dignitoso, con regolare permesso di soggiorno e disoccupati. Nonostante i negativi, il problema dei senzatetto \u00e8 ora all’ordine del giorno politico ed \u00e8 riconosciuto come questione specifica nel Piano nazionale contro la povert\u00e0. Housing First \u00e8 riconosciuto come l’approccio migliore per porre fine ai senzatetto ea partire da quest’anno milioni di euro saranno investiti nei servizi per i senzatetto.
