Tell us about why you chose to study abroad 
I always knew that I wanted to do something exciting during my time at uni, and I love to travel so I decided that a study abroad was a perfect opportunity to hit two birds with one stone. So I asked my professors in first year if that was an option for my course and they told me that in second year all my questions would be answered and they were right. There was so many interesting and exciting opportunities for placements but when I saw that studying in Hong Kong was an option I knew that it would be first on my list.

What are you looking forward to the most about your upcoming exchange placement?
I’m so excited to immerse myself in a culture different to my own and in a country with so much to offer. I’m hoping to be lucky enough to be able to travel around the region, and make new friends from all over the world.

What’s something from your home culture you’re excited to share abroad?
I can’t wait to introduce people to traditional British foods and snacks, humour and common expressions, and British holidays e.g. pancake day.

How would you describe your personality in three words?
Bubbly, easy-going and funny.

What is the one thing you think you will miss most about Cardiff/home?
My friends, family and cat.

What do you like about Cardiff – as a city and University?
It has the perfect mix of city life and nature. It’s so social and lively, yet so close to amazing parks to hike in and explore. I’ve made friends for life at Cardiff university and couldn’t imagine a better place to be my home university.

What’s one goal you hope to achieve during your time abroad?
I hope to experience all Hong Kong has to offer and to make the most of of my time abroad. That includes making as many new friends as I can, and stepping out of my comfort zone to say yes to any adventure that comes my way.
