Tell us about why you chose to study abroad:
I always intended to spend time abroad after seeing the opportunity whilst first applying to university via UCAS, but I can’t say I had any particular location in mind. For most of my childhood, my family was moving between and within other countries, and it certainly rubbed off on how I grew up. Living abroad can hugely change your outlook on almost anything, and for the most part, I wanted to “redo” it as an adult with a greater understanding and appreciation for it.

What are you looking forward to the most about your upcoming exchange placement?
Everything feeling new and different, and making friends and connections from around the world.

What’s something from your home culture you’re excited to share abroad?
Welsh Cakes, and the little bit of Welsh that I know.

How would you describe your personality in three words?
Sociable, laid-back, and adventurous

What is the one thing you think you will miss most about Cardiff/home?
I live in a small town not far from Cardiff, so probably the mix of going into a capital city for university and coming home to somewhere more rural and peaceful.

What do you like about Cardiff – as a city and University?
As a university, I like how close the main campus is to the city centre, how personable and talkative the staff in my school are, and I really like how upfront and supportive the university is of going abroad, because it’s made the process much easier to navigate.

What’s one goal you hope to achieve during your time abroad?
Learn a bit of skiing!
