Tell us about why you chose to study abroad
I had planned to study abroad even before starting university; a large part of my decision making during university applications was influenced by the university’s exchange program. I didn’t have a specific destination in mind and so it definitely helped that the smaller choice of host universities offered to each school and degree program narrowed it down. I’ve always been super interested in discovering different and new cultures and countries, therefore I decided early on that this program suited me.

What are you looking forward to the most about your upcoming exchange placement?
I’m most looking forward to meeting new people and getting to know a new country. Although Canada is English-speaking, I’m excited to encounter new and different experiences when it comes to the culture and the people.

What’s something from your home culture you’re excited to share abroad?
I’m excited to compare the academic culture of my host country to that of my home culture, to share any skills I might have and to learn from others.

How would you describe your personality in three words?
Curious, dedicated and personable.

What is the one thing you think you will miss most about Cardiff/home?
The countryside / nature.

What do you like about Cardiff – as a city and University?
I love the mixture of the big city and nature / the parks; the university is so social and there’s always something happening.

What’s one goal you hope to achieve during your time abroad?
I hope to say yes to lots of new experiences and come back to Cardiff with some interesting stories to tell!
