What motivated you to take up a year/semester abroad in Cardiff?

I really wanted to get out into Europe and explore so when looking at my options I was leaning towards the UK. For me my priority was my courses and education, I found the perfect curriculum here and some amazing teachers! As an archaeology student the history and work done in the region is really interesting and super collaborative.

What are your highlights from your time in Cardiff ?

I have honestly met some amazing people here everyday spending time with them is so much fun and precious. We really like doing day trips outside of the city, it started with Cardiff’s amazing “give it a go” sessions and has turned into a weekly weekend get away to places around the UK. We really enjoyed visiting the Cotswolds and little villiages around there, but also within Wales our trip to the beach town Tenby was incredible – there was even a spot of sun!

What would you say to students who are unsure about coming to study at Cardiff University?

Cardiff is a busy and vibrant city with so much going on all the time! It is super convenient for travelling, whether overseas or heading into the UK, there are so many options and it’s so easy to organise. The country is beautiful and so are the people, the university is so helpful and there are lots of opportunities. It’s a unique experience and definitely a fun one!

What advice would you give to other students when applying for the programme?

Apply and do your research early! There is a lot of paperwork and so many step to get it sorted so the sooner the better! My main advice would be to just stay on top of emails and notifications.
