What motivated you to take up a year abroad in Cardiff?

I really wanted to study abroad and had met a few students from Cardiff who were on exchange at my home university. After finding out Cardiff checked off all my boxes, I decided to apply!

How was the process of applying for this programme?

First, I had to apply to my home university’s study abroad program in order to be nominated for Cardiff. I then applied to Cardiff and was accepted into the program! My suggestion would be to complete all of your applications as early as possible and to keep all of your due dates organized!

Can you tell us about the learning and teaching environment at Cardiff University?

I have found the work here to be extremely independent, more than my home university. I found my professors to be passionate and engaging, and helpful answering questions. The one thing I have missed, however, is the close relationship I have with my professors back home; I wish I was able to foster a closer learning relationship with my instructors here, especially in smaller class settings.

What are your highlights from your time in Cardiff?

My favorite experience from Cardiff was making my friends here. When I first arrived, I attended all of the GO events, and ended up meeting my closest friends there (all Australian exchange students!) We have since traveled over Europe together, and I will never forget them!
