HEFCE have published the long awaited searchable database of impact cases which goes beyond simply having the impact cases available and allows users to do word searches throughout sections of the documents – ALL sections, not just the wordy bits.
Have a look and see what you think. This isn’t quite what we expected to happen with these cases, and HEFCE have asked us to agree to a CCBY license for these too. This would enable users of the database to use the impact cases as a research resource and build on it to create knew knowledge. Around two thirds of institutions have agreed to this licensing.
Given the genuinely unknown implications of using this information are research data (and potential implications on our very supportive corroborating partners) Cardiff University have not agreed to the CCBY license.
