We held an informal event on 24 January to mark the official launch of the updated version of European Sources Online (ESO), the online information service managed and developed by the University Library Service (ULS) at Cardiff University.

Cardiff EDC Manager Frederico Rocha and acting University Librarian Tracey Stanley welcomed representatives from different sectors – Welsh Government and Welsh Assembly, European Commission, third sector, honorary consuls – as well as academic and non-academic staff from Cardiff University.

The ESO database is compiled by staff at Cardiff EDC in cooperation with a group of librarians and information specialists from other institutions across Europe. It has proven throughout the years to be a useful tool to find information on anything European – the countries and regions of Europe, its communities and complex realities, its national and supranational institutions, its relations with the rest of the world.

ESO aims to be a bridge between knowledge and anyone in society. Each month this free online service is visited by thousands of users from around the world, such as students and academics, librarians and information specialists, civil servants and government officials, and stakeholders from the private sector.

Keep an eye on the database for daily updates on the main developments relating to Europe! You can also sign up to our Email Alert service or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
