New Study-Abroad Opportunities Launched17 October 2014
It is important to us that students are enabled to gain the most from their experience at Cardiff University, both academically and personally. Studying abroad is a fantastic way of making the most of your time in higher education. It can enhance your studies and boost your career prospects but also enables you to immerse yourself in a different culture and make new friends.
You may already have heard of some of the great existing opportunities for engineering students to study or work in Europe during their degree, either through ERASMUS+ (a 3-12 month European exchange programme) or the Year in Europe (language tuition followed by a 12 month year in Europe working in industry). For the academic year 2014/15, the School of Engineering has also introduced an international exchange programme for MEng students, where 3rd years will be able to spend a semester or academic year studying at one of the School’s partners outside of Europe.
The University has now also introduced international short-term study programmes offering undergraduate students the opportunity to study outside of Europe for a minimum of four weeks. These programmes are available across Brazil, China, India or you could even suggest a study programme of your choice.
As an exchange student, you’ll get a chance to learn and develop an impressive skills set which will enhance your employability, helping you stand out in an increasingly competitive international graduate job market. It’s also a great life experience, whatever your career plans are!
If you would like further information on studying abroad or would like to apply for any of the exchange schemes on offer, please contact the Global Opportunities Centre.
