Celebrating our community

12 June 2024

Our first ever Postgraduate Celebration Week took place between 3 and 7 June, offering a fitting celebration of our postgraduate research community, their unique achievements and the incredible range of research they are involved in across the university.

Over 300 postgraduate research students and others came together across the week, taking the chance to meet one another, socialise in a range of informal settings, and share their research as well as hearing from others.

Throughout the week there were chances to get involved in social activities from boardgames to bouldering, as well as a series of Careers Cafés, a Postgraduate Research Symposium and two competitions: our always popular Images of Research; and the Cardiff heat of the national Three Minute Thesis (3MT®).

It was fantastic to see such a range of research being presented in different ways – both visual and oral – and the standard of presentations was excellent. The winners are detailed below.
