Digital writing practices in UK schools / Arferion ysgrifennu digidol mewn ysgolion

17 April 2015

Please help us to know more about digital writing practices in UK schools. You can do this by completing our very short survey. To do this, click on this link to the survey.

Hefyd ar gael yn Gymraeg, arferion ysgrifennu digidol mewn ysgolion – Arolwg ar gyfer ysgolion cynradd neu Arolwg ar gyfer ysgolion uwchradd

We want to know how digital writing practices are implemented (or not) in classrooms across the curriculum and key stages. Are teachers keen to include more digital writing but face barriers? If there are barriers what are the constraints? Or is the introduction of computers and tablets in writing problematic or unnecessary?

One big question we are asking is whether or not it really matters how students actually type – so are typing behaviours or practices important? Should we be teaching keyboard skills? If so, what type of typing is best these days given that few of us are professional copy typists and most of us are using tablets as well as computers.

Do you think this is a worthwhile project?  Do you have suggestions? Leave us a comment!
