The meeting on Thursday 10 September brought together PPIE representatives who are currently living with dementia. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">At this meeting, discussion centred on <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">how <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">people living with dementia use <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">technology<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">, and in particular digital technology,<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">in <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">everyday life.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">On Friday 11 September, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">the team <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">convened<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> a meeting with<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> PPIE representatives who have experience of caring for people living with dementia.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> Here, discussion focused on<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> how technology can <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">be used<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> to help maintain and support the abilities and capacities of a person living with dementia.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">Both carers and people living with dementia<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> advised and provided input to <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">our<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\"> ethic<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">s application<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW184321253 BCX0\">.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP Selected SCXW184321253 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September, DemTechConnect held two of our regular Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) meetings.
