{"id":391,"date":"2016-10-14T12:37:23","date_gmt":"2016-10-14T12:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/?p=391"},"modified":"2024-04-15T12:20:17","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T12:20:17","slug":"creative-cardiff-is-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/creative-cardiff-is-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Creative Cardiff is one"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In its first year, <a href=\"http:\/\/creativecardiff.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Creative Cardiff<\/a> has validated all four of our initial goals.<\/p>\n<p>We set out to increase quality and momentum between creative economy people in the Cardiff city region. The proof of that is in our growth in membership and on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CreativeCardiff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>, but also in countless personal stories of individuals and organisations who tell us how they have found their way round Cardiff&#8217;s creative economy by chancing upon Creative Cardiff, online or in some other way.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve also continued to build out our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research network<\/a>, collaborating with partners like <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/2016\/10\/07\/festivals-research-group-the-swn-music-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S\u0175n Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In our third objective, we set out to explore the case for investment in a <a href=\"http:\/\/creativecardiff.org.uk\/hub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">creative hub<\/a> in Cardiff and what we&#8217;ve found is that whilst we have been asking for feedback and conducting pilots, a small wave of hubs has simply emerged.\u00a0Now we are concentrating on helping them to connect.<\/p>\n<p>Our fourth objective is to find a way of helping Cardiff to articulate a compelling\u00a0vision for its creative ambition.\u00a0Any one of the tens of thousands of people who gathered for the <a href=\"http:\/\/creativecardiff.org.uk\/52\/45-creative-cardiff-city-unexpected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City of the Unexpected Roald Dahl Festival<\/a> will have sensed the scale of ambition and energy that&#8217;s out there.<\/p>\n<p>We hope to have new ideas to announce shortly about further steps towards this\u00a0objective.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/creativecardiff.org.uk\/52\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-392\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2016\/10\/Creative-Cardiff-first-birthday-300x214.jpeg\" alt=\"CC_Birthday_Card.indd\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2016\/10\/Creative-Cardiff-first-birthday-300x214.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2016\/10\/Creative-Cardiff-first-birthday-475x338.jpeg 475w, https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2016\/10\/Creative-Cardiff-first-birthday-768x547.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/creative-economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2016\/10\/Creative-Cardiff-first-birthday.jpeg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In its first year, Creative Cardiff has validated all four of our initial goals.
