Celebrating Student Achievement at our Awards Ceremony26 April 2017
Each year, Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) in Academic and Student Support Services formally recognises student achievement at our annual Awards Ceremony. This event is always eagerly anticipated as it provides the ideal opportunity for students and staff to celebrate personal academic achievements, as well as acknowledging the contribution that CPE makes to adult education provision in Wales.
This year we were delighted to be able to welcome Professor Amanda Coffey, Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience and Academic Standards, to officiate at the proceedings. Over 140 guests applauded our students as Professor Coffey presented Certificates, Diplomas and Prizes.
Professor Coffey commented: “I would like to congratulate everyone who received a certificate at the Awards Ceremony, a well-earned reward for their hard work and commitment. Taking part in the event allowed me to witness first-hand their fantastic achievements. CPE remains well placed to provide a gateway for the public to study part-time at the University.”
Dr Zbig Sobiesierski (Director of Continuing and Professional Education) commented “We were delighted that Professor Coffey agreed to officiate at our Award Ceremony this year. CPE has always strived to deliver a vibrant programme of part-time courses for adult learners. Public facing, but grounded in the academic strengths of the University, CPE also continues to support the Community Outreach activities of the University Widening Participation team. A current project, working with the Welsh Refugee Council, includes the creation of an innovative pathway to postgraduate study at Cardiff.”
Students attending the event were thrilled with the proceedings: “I enjoyed the opportunity to get together with other students and experience the sense of occasion whilst celebrating effort and achievement”
