CELP in 2024 \/25<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Centre for Environmental Law and Policy (CELP) sits within the School of Law and Politics at Cardiff University. The aim of the group is to bring together staff and students that share a concern in environmental degradation and the social conditions of its making. In doing so, CELP provides a multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder forum for sharing thoughts and actions to reveal and challenge the social, political and legal relations degrading our planet.\u00a0Our website, blog<\/a> and list of publications<\/a>\u00a0provide an overview of the Centre’s ethos<\/a>, its members<\/a>, its\u00a0events<\/a> and the Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching<\/a> available for students within the School of Law and Politics.<\/p>\n

For the past two years the Student Division of CELP<\/a> has operated as a student-led offshoot of CELP, developing a dynamic research community among undergraduates and taught postgraduates based in the School of Law and Politics with an interest in environmental research themes. See details of their past events<\/a> and featured work.<\/a><\/p>\n

In 2024\/25 CELP is hoping to integrate its student division into the wider centre network. In 2024 \/25 any undergraduate or taught postgraduates interested in CELP are welcome to attend CELP workshops and publish blog posts on the centre webpages. Details of the events will be circulated nearer the time, and any students wishing to discuss potential blog post submissions are encouraged to contact Jade Jones<\/a> at JonesJC8@cardiff.ac.uk<\/strong><\/p>\n

CELP RECENT EVENTS\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Student CELP Annual Winter Conference 14 Dec 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Student CELP Winter Conference was first launched in Dec 2022 and returned in Dec 2023 with a host of new presentations. The conference is a fantastic showcase of the latest ongoing research within Cardiff University’s environmental law and policy department by leaders in the field. The conference is also an excellent opportunity for staff and students to network within an engaging and lively atmosphere, and a fun way to round off the academic semester.<\/p>\n

The conference entails several presentations from staff within the School of Law and Politics, sharing insights from their research on various environmental law and policy issues. Each presentation will be followed by a short Q&A with the audience.<\/p>\n
