Professor Agustin Valera Medina to deliver Keynote at International Combustion Institute Winter School, Brazil

15 July 2025

In July Professor Agustin Valera Medina, co-director of the Net Zero Innovation Institute (NZII) and director of the Centre of Excellence on Ammonia Technologies (CEAT) at Cardiff University is invited as keynote speaker at the prestigious 10th International Combustion Institute Winter School (CI-WS). This biennial event is organised by the Combustion Institute, the Brazilian National Combustion Network, and the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (ABCM). It is one of the notable events where leading researchers and experts share insights on advanced combustion research and collaboration.
This event is taking place in São Paulo, Brazil from July 20th to 25th 2025, at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Professor Agustin will present highlights of CEAT’s innovative research and development in employing Ammonia as an energy vector. His work focuses on understanding the properties of ammonia blends for power generation and heating, along with technical challenges encountered across different power scales, particularly in systems that aim to support the transition toward carbon-free fuel solutions in these critical sectors.

This invitation underscores the global impact of Professor Agustin’s work and highlights CEAT’s growing reputation as a leader in combustion research. We congratulate Professor Agustin on this remarkable recognition and look forward to the insights shared at this event.
