While some in the CLL group opted for the glamour of New Orleans (ASH), others opted for the home grown charms of the BT Convention Centre in Liverpool (above). PhD students Lauren and Reiss presented their work as posters at the annual British Society for immunology (BSI) Congress.
Although their presentations were the only ones that featured CLL, it was clear that many labs were using similar techniques to study the role of T cells in a wide range of diseases. Lauren and Reiss (and their aged supervisor) made some good contacts and learnt a lot from the conference. The group is grateful to the William Morgan Thomas Bequest and the BSI for providing bursaries to fund attendance at the conference.
