Job description in a nutshell
I deal with the day to day running of the library dealing with all users and staff.
Where did you grow up?
Cardiff.
What did you do before the library?
In life before children I was a catering manager running a kitchen and feeding between 60-75 people every day! Then a nursery assistant.
What are you reading?
Yet another crime/mystery/thriller an Ian Rankin one this time.
Hard copy or electronic?
Mostly hard you can’t beat holding a book!
What are your favourite things about Cardiff? Any hidden gems that you would recommend?
It is compact with everything you need, close to the coast and the mountains and of course Wales play rugby here.
Favourite place – Café Aroma on Crwys Road, great homemade food and coffee.
Best thing about working here at the university?
The mix of people you meet and never having two days exactly the same.
What’s the most unusual or surprising library query that you’ve been asked?
We get asked all sort of random questions such as do we have theses from Australia and where is the best place to get lunch!
