Job description in a nutshell
I work in the Bute and Law Libraries and support the Schools of Optometry and Pharmacy in their use of library resources and services.
Where did you grow up?
Devon, Somerset, Hong Kong, Oxford, North Wales, Sheffield (sorry!)
What did you do before the library?

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
Hard copy or electronic?
Hard – I still like paper and cardboard best!
What are your favourite things about Cardiff? Any hidden gems that you would recommend?
Bute Park, especially the galloping police horses and the trees. Oh and I like those animal sculptures on top of the wall round the park. Not to mention the shopping and nice places to eat … I like the Millennium Centre and Woods Brasserie – good for a gourmet meal.
Best thing about working here at the University?
The people – talented, innovative, friendly, brilliant! The environment is great – especially the Bute Library and Cathays Park generally.
Most unusual or surprising library query?
‘Where is the nearest post office? I need to send an envelope’, via our online ‘Ask a Librarian’ chat.
