Stats made easy??

1 June 2015

We have many books in the Library and online to help get your head around statistics, just search http://librarysearch.cf.ac.uk for medical statistics.

If you prefer a more visual way of learning about statistics, have a look at “Against All Odds – inside statistics” from Harvard University. http://www.learner.org/courses/againstallodds/

Its an online course on statistics made up of 10min videos with PDF student guides to support them. You can work through the whole course or just dip in and out of the bits you need e.g. Normal Calculations, Confidence Intervals.

There’s also this interactive tool from Nottingham University:

“Statistics, an Intuitive Introduction” – https://prezi.com/6rlclz8qvn-u/statistics-an-intuitive-introduction/

Navigate through the Prezi and click on the links to bits you need more help with to open up an online tutorial.

And a basic, but very useful glossary of stats terms from University of Glasgow:

“Statistics Glossary” – http://www.stats.gla.ac.uk/steps/glossary/index.html
