Access to NVIVO

The way you can download NVIVO has changed. The software is no longer charged for at the library. Instead you can follow the below instructions to install it.

• You can download the application from QSR’s website: https://www.qsrinternational.com/nvivo/support-overview/downloads
• During installation, you will be asked to input a product key – this can be found in the application’s support page on the Cardiff Intranet: https://intranet.cardiff.ac.uk/students/applications/help/nvivo (the terms of use can also be found on this page)
• NVivo is available for Windows and MAC, although the MAC version of the software offers fewer features compared to the Windows version. The product key is the same for both versions
• The software’s product key will expire annually, so will need to be updated each year. Users who activate the software using a product key associated with Cardiff University’s software license will receive the updated product key via email whenever the old key expires
• There is no longer a charge associated with this software

We are unable to provide NVivo to non-Cardiff University students or members of staff – this means that NHS staff are ineligible for access to the software under our site licence.
