Over the summer we installed a new Library Management System. There are some minor changes to the look and feel of the catalogue but the main changes are:
No renewals – items will be automatically renewed unless they have been recalled (for a request)
You will never need to renew a book again, or pay a fine if you haven’t had time to renew your books. We’ve removed the renew option from My Library Account because there is no longer any need for it.
Please note; if an item is awaiting a request- you will need to return the item on its due date. Fines payable for these items is £2 per day.
View your loan history
You can view a list of all items you’ve borrowed previously, (as of August 2016) from the ‘My Library Account’ tab.
Reserve and return anywhere
You can now select your preferred library for collection each time you place a request on LibrarySearch. You can also return your items to any of the University libraries.
It’s much clearer and easier to request a book in LibrarySearch now: just make sure that you’re signed in, and then click on the ‘Request’ option in the ‘Find & Request’ tab.
The publicity about these changes is available at on the library blog at: http://blogs.cardiff.ac.uk/library/librarysearchupdate2016/
Please contact your library for further information or questions about specific loans.
