The printer will allow users to 3D<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">&nbsp;print bespoke pieces of scientific equipment or generate scale models &nbsp;of microscopic samples&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">for use in their research as well as for teaching, outreach and engagement <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">activities (e<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">xamples can be &nbsp;found &nbsp;<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/bioimaging\/2016\/02\/27\/in-focus-bigging-it-up-3d-printing-of-confocal-datasets\/\">here&nbsp;<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">and<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">&nbsp;<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/bioimaging\/2016\/08\/01\/in-focus-ancient-pollen-not-to-be-sniffed-at-development-of-a-3d-printed-pollen-reference-collection-for-archeology\/\">here<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">The 3D printer utilises FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) printing technology and has a range of advanced features allowing the fabrication of professional quality, high resolution 3D prints.
