Mae Prifysgol Caerdydd yn ehangu potensial imiwnotherapi canser trwy gyfuniad o fiowybodeg, ymchwil labordy, treialon clinigol, a chydweithio \u00e2 sefydliadau ledled Cymru.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mae ein system imiwnedd yn nodi ac yn dinistrio meinwe heintiedig afiach ledled y corff, ac eithrio meinwe canser. O ran canser, yn lle hynny mae&#8217;r system imiwnedd yn nodi ei fod yn iach, gan adael celloedd canser i dyfu&#8217;n ddirwystr.<\/p>\n<p>Mae imiwnotherapi canser yn faes ymchwil arloesol sy&#8217;n ceisio goresgyn y broblem hon trwy berswadio&#8217;r system imiwnedd i atal canser yn ei draciau. Mae datblygiadau imiwnotherapi yn cynnwys datblygu gwrthgyrff newydd a all gysylltu eu hunain \u00e2 chelloedd imiwn a rhwystro&#8217;r signal sy&#8217;n atal y system imiwnedd rhag nodi bod y canser wedi&#8217;i heintio.<\/p>\n<p>Mae hyn wedi darparu datblygiadau sylweddol mewn triniaeth ar gyfer canserau nad oedd modd eu trin o\u2019r blaen gan gynnwys melanoma, ond mae gan yr ymchwil ffordd bell i fynd, gyda chyfraddau llwyddiant cyfyngedig yn cael eu dangos mewn treialon ar gyfer mathau eraill o ganser.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cancer immunotherapy: significant breakthrough? | Imiwnotherapi canser: datblygiad sylweddol?\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HtC-Lv_gZ-g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Yn ein harddangosfa, mae\u2019r Athro Awen Gallimore, Cyd-gyfarwyddwr y Sefydliad Ymchwil Imiwnedd Systemau, yn dangos sut mae Prifysgol Caerdydd yn ehangu ar botensial imiwnotherapi canser trwy gyfuniad o fiowybodeg, ymchwil labordy, treialon clinigol, a chydweithio \u00e2 sefydliadau ledled Cymru.<\/p>\n<p>Mae Lorenzo Capitani, myfyriwr PhD yn nh\u00eem Awen, yn rhoi enghraifft o&#8217;r ymchwil hwn, gan rannu manylion ei ymchwiliad ei hun i driniaeth newydd ar gyfer canser y colon y 4ydd canser mwyaf angheuol yn y byd. Ar hyn o bryd, mae treialon clinigol sy&#8217;n targedu canser y colon gydag imiwnotherapi wedi bod yn aflwyddiannus iawn. Mae Lorenzo yn credu y gallai hyn fod oherwydd y ganran uchel o LAG3 a geir mewn celloedd canser colorectol, genyn y tu mewn i gelloedd gwaed gwyn a allai fod yn rhoi signal i atal ymatebion imiwn.<\/p>\n<p>Mae ymchwil Lorenzo yn olrhain y gydberthynas rhwng LAG3 a chyfraddau llwyddiant triniaeth mewn cleifion canser colorectol, gan benderfynu yn y pen draw a ellid datblygu imiwnotherapi newydd sy&#8217;n targedu ac yn rhwystro LAG3 rhag gweithredu&#8217;n uniongyrchol, gan wella triniaeth ar gyfer canser y colon a&#8217;r rhefr a darparu sylfaen ar gyfer imiwnotherap\u00efau yn y dyfodol.<\/p>\n<p>Nod ymchwil Caerdydd yw rhoi gobaith i gleifion canser sy&#8217;n byw gyda&#8217;r clefydau anwelladwy hyn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/HtC-Lv_gZ-g\">Gwyliwch ein digwyddiad Arddangos Ymchwil i ddysgu mwy<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Mae imiwnotherapi canser yn faes ymchwil arloesol sy'n ceisio helpu'r system imiwnedd i adnabod a thargedu celloedd canser.
