Barry Sullivan, <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Deputy Director of Supporter Relations and Head of Alumni &amp; Supporter Relations, takes us through the thinking behind the awards scheme that\u2019s doing things differently.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">30 Under 30 lists are <strong>tr\u00e8s<\/strong> clich\u00e9. We\u2019re a leading institution of higher learning. We won\u2019t be confined by arbitrary numbers. And like the rule-breakers and innovators we are celebrating, we\u2019re doing things a little differently. We present to you: The 30<em>(ish)<\/em> Awards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhat if I\u2019m 34?\u201d I hear you ask. \u201cno probs\u201d I say.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cHow will you select only 30 winners?\u201d you press. \u201cMeh\u201d (us).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cCan I nominate myself?\u201d (with what I hope is your last question)\u2026\u201dAbsolutely!\u201d I answer with emphasis. \u201cBe proud of the impact you\u2019re making and shout about it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 30<em>(ish)<\/em> Awards are an opportunity for the University to recognise the pioneering young(ish) alumni who are disrupting the status quo to make a positive impact on their community. We\u2019re looking for inspirational stories of trendsetters and changemakers who exemplify what it means to be Cardiff-made.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Look out for our announcement in late June when applications and nominations will open. And mark your calendar: Thursday 20 October 2022. Saving the date for an awards ceremony you\u2019ve not even applied for yet oozes confidence, and is a boss move we respect!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">This will be an IN PERSON* evening of celebration and networking with other \u2018<em>diffe<\/em>rence-makers\u2026and we look forward to seeing you there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>*Keeping our fingers firmly crossed there won\u2019t be any restrictions<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The 30(ish) Awards are coming soon, but what exactly are they?
