Find out more about our kitchen savvy Cardiff alumni while making something yummy!\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meet the chef<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sarah John (BA 2011) is the founder and director of Boss Brewing, a multi-award-winning brewery she started with her business partner<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/alumni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/323\/2021\/12\/P.15-Sarah-John-CHEF.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7819 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/alumni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/323\/2021\/12\/P.15-Sarah-John-CHEF.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"255\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a> when she was in her twenties. Sarah\u2019s rated one of the top entrepreneurs in the UK and started her journey here at Cardiff as a journalism student.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI loved cooking this porridge as a student \u2013 it felt like a way to have chocolate for breakfast without being naughty! It made me feel full for ages, so I would opt for this if I knew I had a long assignment to smash out that day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Let&#8217;s get cooking&#8230;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Shopping list <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Serves 2<\/p>\n<p>300ml of milky water (1\/2 milk, 1\/2 water)<\/p>\n<p>75g of oatmeal<\/p>\n<p>1\u202ftablespoon of chocolate powder<\/p>\n<p>A handful of blueberries<\/p>\n<p>3\u202ftablespoons of water<\/p>\n<p>1\u202fpinch of salt<\/p>\n<p>A few dollops of peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)<\/p>\n<p>10g of dark chocolate shavings<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you\u2019ll need<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Measuring jug<br \/>\nMedium sized saucepan<br \/>\nSmall saucepan<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Step 1<\/p>\n<p>Mix the milky water, oatmeal and salt into a saucepan and bring it to the boil.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2<\/p>\n<p>Once it\u2019s brought to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 5 minutes until it has thickened.
