I\u2019m not surprised to find myself in\u00a0print media because while my study pathway\u00a0was broadcast, my dissertation was article-based.\u00a0The title was \u2018The United Nations\u00a0&amp; Conflict Resolution,\u2019 with the genocide\u00a0in Darfur as a case study. It was not an easy\u00a0project, however, my passion for security\u00a0issues continued to inspire me and\u00a0I eventually got it all together.<\/p>\n<p>Upon my return to Nigeria and within\u00a0a year of gaining employment with\u00a0Leadership Newspapers Group Ltd, a\u00a0national newspaper, I won two awards for\u00a0articles I wrote on defence and tourism.\u00a0I was awarded the Tourism Reporter of the\u00a0Year (Print) 2012, Ladi Lawal Journalist of\u00a0the Year Award and Defence Reporter of the\u00a0year (Print) 2012, Ladi Lawal Journalist\u00a0of the Year Award.<\/p>\n<p>As a journalist, I work with the\u00a0Government desk at Leadership Newspapers\u00a0Group in Nigeria, covering issues that have\u00a0to do with good governance across all\u00a0levels. At work I mainly write feature news\u00a0stories and sometimes write news reports.<\/p>\n<p>I anchor some news sections of Government,\u00a0some of which feature West African news\u00a0stories, stories about world leaders and\u00a0governments, and the diplomatic circle.\u00a0For the foreign pages of Government,\u00a0I mostly enjoy interviewing ambassadors\u00a0and high-profile personalities in various\u00a0sectors of government and looking at their\u00a0impact on society.<\/p>\n<p>In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and\u00a0writing fiction. A word of advice, never give\u00a0up on your dreams.
