{"id":4600,"date":"2023-10-31T11:09:09","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T11:09:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/LTAcademy\/?p=4600"},"modified":"2023-10-31T11:09:23","modified_gmt":"2023-10-31T11:09:23","slug":"meet-bettie-heatley-our-administration-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/LTAcademy\/meet-bettie-heatley-our-administration-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet Bettie Heatley, our Administration Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My name is <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.cardiff.ac.uk\/staff\/heatleye\">Elizabeth Heatley<\/a> but I go by Bettie.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m an Administration Officer in the Projects and Operations team of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/about\/our-profile\/who-we-are\/education\/cardiff-learning-and-teaching-academy\">Learning and Teaching Academy<\/a> but I work solely on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/jobs\/what-we-can-offer\/teaching-innovation-and-support\/education-fellowship-programmes\">Education Fellowships Programmes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long have you been in your role and what does it involve?<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I joined the Learning and Teaching Academy in May 2021 to set up and run the processes and systems for supporting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/jobs\/what-we-can-offer\/teaching-innovation-and-support\">Education Fellowships Programmes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us a bit more about your career history\u2026<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve had quite a variety of jobs, including laboratory assistant, working in the recruitment advertising department of the Western Mail &amp; Echo and I even ran my own vintage jewellery business for a while. My longest role though, was working as a Crime Scene Investigator for South Wales Police for 14 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What led you to this role?<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I originally joined the School of History Archaeology and Religion as an Administration Assistant, where I was lucky to be able to learn all aspects of supporting programmes in quite a short amount of time. This gave me the experience I needed to apply for my current role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your biggest achievement to date \u2013 professionally?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supporting over 300 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/jobs\/what-we-can-offer\/teaching-innovation-and-support\">Education Fellowships Programmes<\/a> participants in gaining their Associate Fellowship, Fellowship or Senior Fellowship awards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s the best thing you\u2019ve read, watched or listened to this month?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Succession!
