What does your role with the LT Academy involve?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

I\u2019m the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Branch Officer here at the University. I\u2019m the point of contact between the University and the Coleg.\u00a0 I work with the Welsh Language Academy within the Cardiff Learning and Teaching Academy, supporting the development of Welsh-medium education provision.\u00a0 It’s a very diverse job, and I’m lucky to be able to work for the language with energetic and enthusiastic students, researchers, staff and academics.<\/p>\n

What did you do before working for the LT Academy?<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Before coming to work for the University, I was developing the Wales Millennium Centre’s Welsh language strategy.<\/p>\n

Describe a project you\u2019ve enjoyed working on with the LT Academy<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Two months into the lockdown, I got to be a part of the Digital Education Group of the Learning and Teaching Academy and the wider University. Working to tighter deadlines than usual on innovative developments was very exciting and a great example of effective te<\/p>\n

What are you looking forward to working on with the LT Academy<\/span>?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

This year, the Coleg and Branch are celebrating ten years, and to celebrate, a series of events are going to be held. I’m really looking forward to the Research Symposium on 1st March, which I’m organising jointly with the Cardiff Metropolitan University and the University of South Wales Branches, as well as the event on 15th March to celebrate ten years of Welsh-medium education provision across the University.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

As a teacher in Kecskem\u00e9t, Hungary in the 90s, I sang a Hungarian carol at a Christmas concert, and my students sang a carol in Welsh. I can\u2019t speak much Hungarian now, unfortunately. It\u2019s easy to forget a language if you don\u2019t have the opportunity to use it.<\/p>\n
