Both approaches offer a flexible, multimedia approach for capturing teaching activities and sharing resources online, including sharing via our Virtual Learning Environment \u2013 Learning Central. However, it is worth clarifying the terms event capture and personal capture and highlight the\u00a0possibilities these approaches represent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Event Capture vs Personal Capture<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Panopto allows staff to develop interactive content, which learners can access, review and replay at their own pace. A number of teaching spaces across campus will be equipped for event capture and a list of Learn Plus-ready rooms can be <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.cardiff.ac.uk\/staff\/applications\/help\/panopto-help\/event-capture-help\/spaces-equipped-for-event-capture\">found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.cardiff.ac.uk\/staff\/applications\/help\/panopto-help\/event-capture-help\">staff intranet<\/a> provides section provides guidance to support staff during each step of the Panopto event capture process.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in reading more in this area, Hull University have collated a number of resources on the subject of <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.hull.ac.uk\/administration\/smarts\/lecture-capture\/lecture-capture-pedagogy.aspx\">lecture capture pedagogy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personal capture<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to event capture, Panopto offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.cardiff.ac.uk\/staff\/applications\/help\/panopto-help\/personal-capture-help\">desktop capture application<\/a>, giving faculty the ability to create and share presentations, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jiscdigitalmedia.ac.uk\/infokit\/screencasting\/screencasting-home\">screencasts<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jiscdigitalmedia.ac.uk\/guide\/creating-an-audio-podcast\">podcasts<\/a> from desktops or mobile devices. This allows faculty to record teaching activities in various environments, such as offices, workshops, laboratories and field locations, and represents innovative teaching and learning opportunities, such as developing content<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jiscdigitalmedia.ac.uk\/infokit\/models-of-learning\/models-of-learning-home\"> as part of a flipped or blended learning approach<\/a>.
