Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Sustainable Catalysis Laboratory
We are constantly looking to attract applications from talented and motivated researchers to join our research group. The challenging research projects conducted will serve as an excellent platform for dynamic and enthusiastic students to receive a first-class training in synthetic organic chemistry that will thoroughly prepare them for a future career in the chemical industry or in academia.
Research opportunities exist at all levels including Undergraduate/Visiting Scholar Research Projects, Ph.D. and Postdoctoral positions. Please feel free to get in contact (MorrillLC@cardiff.ac.uk) regarding research opportunities. Funded positions will be advertised here and widely online.
We are recruiting for a new postdoctoral research associate within the group, focused on a collaborative research project with Dr Rebecca Melen entitled “The Productive Merger of Organocatalysis and Frustrated Lewis Pairs” – apply here! (open until 11th June)
When there are no funded positions advertised, and you would like to join the group, then you must obtain your own funding via applications to postdoctoral fellowships. Full assistance in crafting high class applications for fellowships will be provided. For an extensive list of potential sources of postdoctoral funding please refer to the list below and get in contact (MorrillLC@cardiff.ac.uk) if you would like to apply for any of the fellowships.
We aim to take on between 1 and 3 Ph.D. students each year, with an October 1st start date. Applications from prospective Ph.D. students are welcome at any time. Candidates should have an excellent academic track record and a strong motivation to conduct original research in synthetic organic chemistry. If you require further information on the availability of Ph.D. places or the research we are currently undertaking please get in touch (MorrillLC@cardiff.ac.uk).
