Learn more about our LGBT+ Leaders Panel

Our Employer Liaison Marketing Intern Zoe tells us more about our upcoming LGBT+ Leaders Panel…

Cardiff University is always seeking to promote fairness, equality and justice amongst all its students and staff members, which is why the Careers and Employability Team are looking forward to hosting our very own LGBT+ Leaders Panel Event on Monday 3rd October. Hosted in association with the Iris Prize Film Festival, both events aim to provide information and educate others on LGBT+ experiences.

So who’s it for?

The Panel Event will provide Cardiff University’s LGBT+ community, including both staff and students, with the opportunity to hear from high profile speakers who will openly discuss their experiences and issues they face as an LGBT+ individual in the work place. There will also be an opportunity for those attending to ask questions or highlight any concerns that they may be feeling about entering the workplace after graduating from university.

And what can I expect from the panel event?

We have already confirmed 6 speakers from a selection of backgrounds including IBM, the Civil Service Fast Stream and National Assembly for Wales, as well as the Chair of Enfys which is the University’s Staff LGBT+ Network. Each speaker will be able to deliver a personal and unique account of their experiences as well as provide information about the setup of the organisation or company that they work for or represent.

Sounds great! When is it taking place?

The talk will take place from 18.30 on Monday 3rd October in the Council Chamber, Main Building.

And how can I sign up?

Attendees of the talk will have to register to the event through their Careers account. Please check out the Facebook event for regularly updated information.

See you there!

Best wishes,

Zoe, Employer Liaison Marketing Intern.
