Andrew Pierce is the current Political Editor of the Daily Mail and the former Assistant Editor of both the Times and the Telegraph. He is also a regular on TV and Radio and has been cited as one of the most influential gay men in British politics.
Book to attend a guest lecture with Andrew
On Tuesday 26th April, Andrew Pierce, Journalist, Editor, Author and Broadcaster will be discussing his 30 year career in journalism in a high profile guest lecture in Birt Acres Lecture Theatre at 2.30pm. In this lecture, Andrew will be giving insights into breaking into the world of journalism and media. He will also share some of his top tips for success, along with anecdotes from his varied and somewhat controversial career. He knows everyone in the Westminster village and his ability to ferret out scandal means that he has a reputation for breaking stories.
Afternoon Tea with Andrew? Enter our competition
After the Guest lecture, Andrew Pierce will be taking four lucky students for afternoon tea at the 4* Park Plaza Hotel. This will be a great opportunity to ask him for personal advice on how to get started in the media industry or in politics. He knows key political media figures in the sector and will be happy to guide you on how to ensure an internship and put your feet on the door. To enter your application to network over tea with Andrew, all you have to do is write a short paragraph (no more than 200 words) on why you want to meet Andrew and how you will use this opportunity to help your career journey. In the evening, Andrew Pierce will be taking part in the Creative Industries Panel Event, which will be held in Room 0.14, Bute Building from 6.30pm-8.30pm. At this panel event you will hear from a range of speakers who are working in roles across the creative industries including the CEO of an advertising agency, a published author and representatives from Art, Design, Music, Journalism and TV. They will give you an insight into how they moved up the ranks of their industry, top tips for your career success and will be answering all of your burning questions.
