This Autumn the Careers & Employability Team are excited to be involved in a series of exclusive guest lectures by Cardiff’s High Profile Alumni. 



Speaker Peter Hughes invites you to join him for An insight into a Commercial Career in Oil and Gas on Tuesday 21 October from 5.45 – 7pm, in the Council Chamber, Main Building.

What to expect

 From Graduate Trainee at BP to Partner at Global Gas Partners GMBH, Peter Hughes talk about his fascinating global career in International Management, Strategy, Business Development and Advisory.

Peter is recognised as an industry thought leader (particularly in the sphere of natural gas) with 34 years of experience in oil and gas, he has occupied positions at the most senior levels including being a top executive at BG Group and BP, advising governments and major corporations. Today Peter has a number of independent advisory roles, is active in international arbitration work, including as a member of a Paris-based arbitration tribunal, and is also non-executive chairman of a small Australian gold mining company!

Hear about Peter’s life after Cardiff University, an overview of the roles he has held and an opportunity to ask questions to an extremely highly respected energy industry professional.
