AHSS Early career research grant information and planning event
Friday 4th December, 11.30am-2.30pm, Glamorgan Committee Rooms 1 & 2
The aim of this event is to provide AHSS early career researchers (i.e. academics who submitted their PhD approximately 0-7 years ago) with the opportunity to consider and plan their approach to applying for and winning research grant funding. The event, run by the College Research Development Officers, will include information about different routes to grant funding, as well as information about key funders and their schemes. Case study examples of mid-career researchers and their grant funding track records will also be provided to illustrate different routes available.
As well as providing information, the event will provide time for participants to consider and discuss with the group their plans for applying for research funding. Lunch will be provided as part of an informal networking session during the event. The intention is to follow up this event with a number of related events in 2016 that would support the development of an informal network. This network would facilitate opportunities for early career researchers to discuss progress towards their research funding goals and gain feedback from colleagues in a supportive environment.
If you would like to attend this event, please contactRISResearchDevelopment@cardiff.ac.uk by Friday 20thNovember to confirm your attendance and to tell us of any dietary requirements.
