The value of patient stories in physiotherapy and interprofessional healthcare education

I have networked with many patient support groups which has provided opportunities for patient’s come in or record their story. By involving expert patients in the teaching of undergraduate students this directly feeds into the quality of improvements in healthcare (see posters). This is essential to improve the care and compassion given to the service users in our care. The future generation of healthcare professionals have the potential to influence this direction of service delivery. This translates into the ‘health of our nation’ with a need to enable people living with long term conditions to remain or become more active in their lifestyles.
