Cardiff University is an Open Access University – revised policy announced!

1 November 2017

Cardiff University is an Open Access University. Our Open Access Publications Policy, which was first approved by UEB in October 2014, has been updated. The changes are mostly for clarification purposes and reflect updated processes used to deposit the papers in the University repository.

  • The revised version clearly indicates that the University requires (instead of “strongly encourages”) the deposit of the full text of all Cardiff University’s journal articles and conference proceedings papers into ORCA, regardless of whether they are Green or Gold Open Access.
  • It also places an onus on academic staff to check the accuracy of their publications in the Research Portal, and strongly recommends the adoption of ORCID researcher IDs.
  • The revised policy is in use from 1 November 2017.

You can find the full policy on the Cardiff University website.
