Embedded Literacy

17 April 2015

Working Together on grammar and writing across subject areas and key stages

Cardiff University Monday, 22nd June 2015, 9:15am – 4pm

I’ve organised this event for teachers, researchers and educational professionals to focus attention on how we can work together to develop and deliver effective embedded literacy in classrooms. This event follows on from our very successful CPD Workshop on Grammar and Writing.

I’m very excited about bringing together experts from England and Spain and in addition to my own workshop on grammar and the noun phrase, we’ll have great sessions from Lindsey Thomas (Buckinghamshire Learning Trust), Urszula Clark (Aston University), Rachel Whittaker (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and Anne McCabe (Saint Louis University in Madrid).  Descriptions of the workshops are available here.

We hope that teachers, Head Teachers and other educational specialists will join us for this full day conference on Embedded Literacy, where we will be sharing good practice and working together to find practical and productive ways of developing research-informed literacy projects with interested schools.

The event is open to all teachers or professionals working with embedded literacy. The registration fee is £20 (to cover individual catering costs for the day). Cardiff University is offering a limited number of funded spaces for teachers and this includes the costs of supply cover for teachers to attend the full day, as well as the registration fee and transportation costs (within a limit, please email for details).
