LexisLibrary Appeal Tracker

21 January 2010

It is now possible to track the progress of certain cases which are appealable to the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal or to the Supreme Court on LexisLibrary.

The Appeal Tracker service will provide appeal information for those cases in the All England Reporter series (same and next day case digest service) of particular legal importance (cases with the asterisk symbol * before the case name, which indicates that a case will be considered for inclusion in the All England Law Reports and/or one of LexisNexis’ specialist reports series). Typical information that users can expect to find will be that the parties are not appealing, whether the parties are seeking an appeal or permission to appeal, whether permission to appeal has been granted or refused and hearing dates for an appeal.

Use the CaseSearch facility to access Appeal Tracker information (from the LexisLibrary home page click on Cases followed by CaseSearch). The Appeal Tracker comes as an additional table at the bottom of the CaseSearch screen. For an example of a case which has Appeal Tracker information, see: Calltel Telecom Ltd v Revenue and Customs Comrs [2009] EWHC 1081 (Ch), [2009] All ER (D) 203 (May)
