FOOD FOR THOUGHT – BEST PLACES TO EAT IN CARDIFF

Being a self-confessed foodie, and a blogger who does A LOT of food reviews (www.lotsofloveme.com – shamless plug, but idc!), Cardiff is one of the best cities to eat in, and you’re really spoilt for choice!

Name: Shaam Nights
Address: 116-118 City Road, CF24 3DQ
Cuisine: Middle Eastern
Favourite Meal: Mix Shish (£9) – Two skewers of lamb and chicken cubes marinated with house spices, served with rice.
USP: Shaam Nights is strictiy, no alcohol which means they compensate with having some pretty amazing food, and equally amazing non-alcoholic smoothies.

Name: Coffee Barker
Address: Unit 13, Castle Arcade, CF10 1BU
Cuisine: Cafè
Favourite Meal: Jacket potato with beans and brie
USP: It’s cosy, and you can literally spend hours in the warmth in there filling yourself up with hot chocolate and the best looking cakes in town!

Name: The Cricketers Pub
Address: 66 Cathedral Road, CF11 9LL
Cuisine: British
Favourite Meal: Sticky Toffee Pudding, Butterscotch Sauce and Ice Cream

Name: Cafe Citta

Address: 4 Church Street, CF10 1BG
Cuisine: Italian
Favourite Meal: Linguine de Mar
USP: Huge portions, family run restaurant, and so small you’d probably miss it if you blinked. Cafe Citta is voted the second best restaurant in Cardiff for a reason (number 2 to Shaam Nights!) and it’s so chilled, and so small in there you forget you’re in Wales’ capital city!

Name: Bosphorus
Address: 31 Mermaid Quay, CF10 5BZ
Cuisine: Turkish
Favourite Meal: Mussels (£6.95)
USP: We’ve had both good and bad meals in this place, and sometimes they struggle under the strain of how popular they are, but set on at the end of a pier in Cardiff Bay means you get the most beautiful view!

Address: HMP Cardiff, Knox Road, CF24 0UG
