The Cardiff CLL Research group contributed to Science in Health Live 2014 today. We had over forty students from local school visit the lab and hear about our work. Professor Chris Pepper entertained pupils from his former school, St Cyres, with stories of flow cytometry; Dr Beth Walsby talked to students from Ysgol Bryntawe about her circulating cells and I described how we separate cells from patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. A big thanks to Mel Boyd who brought the students safely to the lab and back again.
It’s the 20th Anniversary Year of Science in Health live. A twitter hashtag (#SIHLive) shows some pictures and some dubious jokes.
Tomorrow, there will be another three tours hosted by Dr Steve Man and Lauren Elston.
