Many of the courses that run in Health at Cardiff University use the tool of reflection in its educational model. The idea is that by asking you to reflect on activities one become accustomed to analysing behaviour and theory and thus can seek to improve methods, treatment and so on.
As a student you might find reflective writing challenging – changing from the formal academic writing of presenting and analysing others’ arguments to giving and exposing your own thoughts on what you did well, where there are gaps in your knowledge, possible improvements as well as relating your observations and analysis back to theory.
The library has a range of books to help you get the best out of your reflective practice. Check out these sources here.
