Daisy is a communications professional at Global.
I got a great feeling when I first visited Cardiff. I’d heard really good things about the University – from its excellent teaching to its vibrant social activities.
The one subject I had always loved was English so the BA in English Literature was an obvious choice for me when researching universities.
Cardiff’s teaching staff were all approachable and understanding. Particular highlights were Martin Coyle’s third year module in Shakespeare and my very first Cultural Criticism module with Neil Badmington which was enlightening.
After graduating, I landed a job in Culture and Communications at media and entertainment group Global. Global are home to some of the biggest and best-loved radio brands, such as Heart, Capital and Classic FM.
I manage day-to-day communications for 1,200 employees and I look after employee engagement. I am also responsible for Global’s website and social media channels.
Without my degree, I wouldn’t be in a job so perfect for me. I enjoy feeling like I’m having an impact, through words, on the way people feel about working for Global.
In the future I’d like to advise business leaders on internal communications and employee engagement, proving that by empowering people through communication, they’ll see higher levels of productivity and growth.
